OUR MISSION

Our Mission

The mission of the Kingfisher Group is to serve the water resource needs of at-risk communities through scientific research, service and innovation.  Our technical team is determined to execute meaningful projects that serve both water quantity and water quality needs, with a focus on increasing the water resource resilience of rural populations.  Our initial focus will be on supporting communities that are experiencing decreased water security due to a changing climate.  This work is only possible through multi-tiered collaboration, local expertise and the application of current science.  Our goal is to make positive change that is practical, cost-effective, reproducible, scalable and sustainable. This website will outline our projects as our work advances.

Projects may include:

Drinking water enhancement

Water security

Bacterial analyses

Chemical and physical assessments of streams, springs and reservoirs.

Stream and river gaging

Flood mitigation

Water capture for domestic and agricultural use

Spring recharge

Erosion control

Community monitoring and scientific support

Outreach and localized water empowerment

Water must never be a reason for rivalry or competition. Water must be a source of cooperation and of shared security and prosperity. Let us remember that water is our primary source of life. So this is also, fundamentally, an existential challenge and a moral obligation.
