With a deep and diverse background in water resources the Kingfisher team also brings expertise in medicine, architecture, development, disaster relief and social action.  We have worked in various capacities, social contexts, and locations around the world.  Through collaboration with local stakeholders we provide evidence-based service that is practical, scalable and sustainable over the long term.  Through science and collaboration we aim to support communities that are facing challenges in both water quality and supply.

Tavis Eddy

Tavis Eddy studied geology at Skidmore college continuing with a Masters degree from the University of Wyoming in Geography and Water Resources. His Fulbright scholarship was based in the city of Varanasi, North India, partnering with the Swatcha Ganga (Clean Ganges) Campaign, focusing on the scientific and religious aspects of improving the water quality within the sacred Ganges River. For twenty years he has worked in the Watershed Program of the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality. His role has been to assess the chemical, physical and biological integrity of the surface waters across the state, within the guidelines of Wyoming water quality regulations.

Julianne Feck

Jules Feck holds a bachelor of science in biological sciences from the University of Notre Dame and a master of science in zoology and physiology from the University of Wyoming. Jules has twenty years of experience working as an environmental scientist, including: conducting environmental research as a field technician and for her masters works, as well as, conducting compliance site inspections and as a project manager of the remediation of contaminated sites for the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality. Jules is adept at grant writing, site characterization and remediation, ecological and human health risk assessment, evaluating environmental data, and modeling pollutant transport and vapor intrusion in the environment. Jules is a member of the State Engagement Program of the Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council, a national organization with the mission of reducing regulatory barriers to innovative technologies and processes, and developing training documents to assist states in environmental work across the country.

Jerrod Wheeler

Jerrod Wheeler received a degree in Environmental Hydrogeology from the University of Wyoming, and is currently a Supervisory Hydrologist with the U.S. Geological Survey. He is responsible for the collection, review and publication of high-quality hydrologic data and the use of hydroacoustics throughout western Wyoming. He has participated in investigative studies related to groundwater/surface-water interaction and provided field and training support to the National Science Foundation’s McMurdo Dry Valleys long-term ecological research program in Antarctica. Prior to the USGS, Jerrod worked as a geologist in the private sector.

Andrew Strike

Andrew Strike received two Bachelors degrees from the University of Wyoming in Geology and Environmental Geology / Geohydrology and a Masters in Structural Geology & Tectonics. This led to work as a consultant for oil and gas operators during which he performed all aspects of water management planning for approximately 4,000 earthen reservoirs, including survey, drafting, design, permitting, construction management and materials testing. Andrew has over eighteen years of managing technical civil and environmental projects as a private consultant in Wyoming. He is currently the owner and operations manager for Strike Consulting Group LLC, and is responsible for staff development, bids and proposals, quality assurance, and contract administration in addition to performing technical work on reclamation and water discharge development projects. He is also a board member of the Wyoming Water Association, which focuses on education and providing policy input to State and Federal legislators and energy managers.

Rahul Barua

Rahul Barua is the founder and Secretary General of South Asia Foundation (SAF). Rahul studied Chemical Engineering at the Institute of Technology at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. SAF works primarily at the grass root level in India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan to enhance the livelihood of marginalized and socially challenged communities, with a special emphasis on supporting the needs of women. Their collaborative work has included the creation of dairy cooperatives in Nepal, and potters villages in New Delhi, India among numerous other projects. Rahul Barua is a visiting faculty member at Banaras Hindu University at the Malviya Peace Research Centre at the College of Social Sciences expanding development initiatives throughout the region. The South Asia Foundation received a Mother Theresa humanitarian award for its role in mobilizing support in the aftermath of Nepal’s devastating 2015 earthquake. He is based in Delhi but travels extensively.

Garth Reber

Garth Reber earned a BS in science from Colorado State University in 1989 and continued with a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997. He completed a residency in Family Medicine in 2000 from Family Medicine Residency of Idaho (a University of Washington program). Since 2000, Garth has worked for the Indian Health Service as a staff physician and Chief Medical Officer.

Nils Eddy

After completing a master’s degree in architecture at The Ohio State University in 1995 and an undergraduate degree in American history and environmental studies at Brown University in 1990, Nils Eddy practiced architecture in the private sector for 20 years. His experience included a year in Lazimpat, Khatmandu Nepal working for John Sandy Consultants on a masterplan for the Central Zoo in Jawalakhel and several medical development projects. Back in the US his increased focus on higher education and environmentally sustainable institutional buildings while working for Ziger/Snead Architects in Baltimore Maryland and GSBS Architects in Salt Lake City, Utah led him to projects within the university environment. For the past 4 years he has worked for the University of Utah, managing a team of project management professionals who oversee design and construction activities associated with the Health Science campus. His interests and skills have grown over time from a foundational interest in history and environmentally responsible design to effective project management and stakeholder engagement. He brings these skills and interest to Kingfisher Aquatics with the objective of improving water quality for the communities we serve.
